Meet Your Instructor

Welcome!  I'm Elizabeth (Liz) Marsden, a native of Washington DC.  These days, I split my time between DC and "The Quiet Corner" of Northeastern CT.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer I offer training and behavior consulting for companion dogs, and professional workshops to rescue groups and shelters, dog daycares, and dog walking companies as the co-founder of Mission Dog.  I've been a seminar speaker for regional and national animal welfare conferences, including the Humane Society of the United States and Petfinder.com.  My background includes more than 25 years of professional experience working with companion dogs and shelter dogs.

Helping adopted dogs fit into their new lives is my specialty; issues like reactive behavior, fear-aggression, and separation anxiety are fairly common. I supervised the housing and daily enrichment needs of eleven of Michael Vicks' pit bulls during their stay at the Washington Animal Rescue League, and I continue to work in the behavior and training department at WARL.

Prevention is better than cure, so I love working with brand-new puppies, too!

If having some fun and allowing your dog to be a dog is just as important to you as getting a grip on manners and appropriate behavior, you will love The Logical Dog's teaching approach. I don't try to fit square pegs into round holes, and I try to find solutions that work for your real life.
